Film Chattanooga has been training local crews in all aspects of professional on-set film and video production skills for over three years. Our graduates have been highly successful in making inroads into the professional ranks of technicians and craftspeople and most have traveled beyond the immediate region for work to enhance their skillsets. In everything we do with our crew training program, we aspire to emulate the highest on-set professional standards of the Hollywood community. The Professional Film and Television Training curriculum was conceived by and is administered by Dave Porfiri, a ten year Hollywood production veteran with 25+ years of overall production experience.
In a relatively short time, the training program has succeeded in building up the crew base in the region to comfortably sustain up to 70% of the crew needs for a major feature film and 90% of the crew needs for a made-for-television movie. Most corporate, music video and commercial projects can be staffed with 95-100% local hires.
